A Dundee man is to stand trial accused of shoving his fiancée down a flight of stairs “to the danger of her life”.
John McNee is alleged to have launched the attack on Alison McCaffrey at an address in Nithsdale Avenue, in the Downfield area, on August 23 last year.
He is accused of first pushing her on the body before dragging her along the floor by the body.
Prosecutors say McNee then pushed her down a flight of stairs, knocking her unconscious causing her injury, permanent disfigurement and endangering her life.
McNee, 38, of Buttars Place, Dundee, denies a charge of assault on indictment.
John Boyle, defending, said: “We are fully prepared for trial.”
Fiscal depute Vicki Bell added: “There is agreement of some of the evidence in this case.”
Sheriff Alistair Carmichael continued the case to a trial later this month.
