Dundee man accused of assaults on his former partner

A Dundee man has been charged with grabbing a woman by the throat on three separate occasions, all to her injury.

Ryan Lawson, 24 of Clifden Blue Court, Dunbar Park, appeared in private at the sheriff court.

He made no plea or declaration in relation to six charges, all of which related to his former partner, Leanne Nicolson.

Lawson is charged with assaulting Ms Nicolson by grabbing her by the throat and repeatedly biting her on the face to her injury, at a property in Erskine Street, on March 28.

He is also charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, and threatening violence towards Ms Nicolson, on the same date and at the same location. He faces a third charge of breaching bail conditions by contacting Ms Nicolson on March 27 and 28.

Lawson is further charged with assaulting Ms Nicolson on various occasions between January 13 and 29, at a property in Findale Street, by seizing her by the throat, pushing her to the ground and pulling her into a bath tub, striking her head and body with his hands, punching her on the head and body, and pushing her, all to her injury.

He faces a fifth charge of assaulting Ms Nicolson by kicking her on the body, seizing her by the throat, repeatedly punching her on the head and body, and pushing her to the floor, all to her injury, on January 29, also at a property in Findale Street.

Lawson faces a sixth charge of assaulting Ms Nicolson by striking her from the rear to the head and body, to her injury, on January 15, at the same property in Findale Street. The case was continued for further investigation and Lawson was allowed bail.
