A youth headbutted a former school friend as she left a birthday party in a Dundee pub.
The sheriff court heard that Calum Connor, 17, headbutted Leah McDermott and broke her nose.
The court heard the incident took place shortly after midnight on June 8 as Ms McDermott left an 18th birthday party at the Admiral bar.
Fiscal depute Trina Sinclair told the court the pair knew each other and had attended secondary school together.
The fiscal said: “The complainer left the pub shortly after midnight and, as she emerged, she heard the accused bad mouthing her. They then got into an argument, which the complainer describes as light-hearted at this point.
“She threw one of her high-heeled shoes at him and dropped her handbag as she did so, which the accused picked up and ran off with. She ran after him, and the argument became more heated.
“Other people tried to split them up, and the accused headbutted her, striking his head on the bridge of her nose.”
Ms McDermott suffered a broken nose.
Solicitor Jim Laverty, defending Connor, said: “He is very much remorseful for what happened. It was all extremely childish. He is ashamed of his behaviour.”
Connor, of Midmill Road, admitted that, on June 8, at Camperdown Road, he assaulted Leah McDermott to her injury. Sentence was deferred to October 28 for good behaviour.
