A 54-year-old Dundee man who allegedly had two firearms and ammunition appeared in private at the city’s sheriff court.
Paul Markie, of Albert Street, made no plea or declaration when he appeared on petition in relation to nine charges.
Markie is charged with having two firearms – a Smith and Wesson 9mm Luger Calibre Self Loading Pistol and an Enfield Bolt, from an Enfield type bolt action rifle – on April 16 and 17.
He is also charged with having seven different types of ammunition – Mixed Calibre Ammunition, .22 Calibre Rounds, .243 Winchester Calibre Rounds, a .30 Calibre Rifle bullet, a 22WCF soft point bullet, a 222 Remington soft point bullet and a .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire bullet.
Markie faces a first charge of possessing a firearm, namely mixed calibre ammunition without a certificate in force at the time, on April 16, at Atlas COPCO, Pearce Avenue, West Pitkerro Industrial Estate, his home address on Albert Street, Dighty Burn at Baldovie Road, and elsewhere unknown.
He also faces a second charge of having a firearm, namely a Smith and Wesson 9mm Luger Calibre Self Loading Pistol, without permission from the Secretary of State or Scottish Ministers, on the following day at Atlas COPCO, Pearce Avenue, West Pitkerro Industrial Estate and elsewhere unknown.
Markie also faces a third charge of having a firearm, namely an Enfield Bolt, from an Enfield type bolt action rifle, without a firearms certificate, on April 16 at Dighty Burn at Baldovie Road.
He faces a further six charges of having ammunition designed or adapted to expand on impact, without permission of the Secretary of State, all on April 16 at Dighty Burn at Baldovie Road, namely .22 Calibre Rounds, .243 Winchester Calibre Rounds, a .30 Calibre Rifle bullet, a 22WCF soft point bullet, a 222 Remington soft point bullet and a .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire bullet.
The case was continued for further investigation.
