Brian Scales was caught after a tip-off led police to pull him over on the Kingsway. A sniffer dog located a half-kilo package of the class A drug in the cab. Fiscal depute Nicola Gillespie said: “On December 19 last year police received intelligence of a van registered to the accused involved in supply. “Police saw the van drive onto Kingsway and stopped it. They found two phones, insurance documents, paper with writing on it and a brown package. “It was found to be heroin.” Scales, 56, a prisoner at HMP Perth, pleaded guilty on indictment to a charge of being concerned in the supply of drugs.
