A Dundee duo have been found guilty of supplying drugs after 500g of heroin was found in their car.
The High Court in Stirling heard that William Forbes (37) and Jenny Whyte (28) both of Panmure Street, Broughty Ferry, were stopped while driving on Benvie Road in October 2013 as part of an operation targeting suppliers of drugs.
A subsequent search recovered 500g of heroin within the vehicle.
DI Graeme Naysmith from Police Scotland’s Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit said: “Police officers acting on vital intelligence gathered from the public were able to target Forbes and Whyte and evidence their part in supplying drugs to the Tayside area.
“Those who disregard the safety of others and take part in the drug supply chain should realise that Police Scotland will use all means at its disposal to bring them to justice.
“We will continue to target serious organised crime and remove those responsible for the distribution of drugs from our communities.
“I would encourage anyone to report criminal activity in their area by contacting police on 101 or anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The pair are expected to be sentenced at Glasgow High Court next month.
