Driver fined for nearly hitting child outside Dundee school
BySheanne Mulholland
A 49-year-old woman ignored a lollipop man and nearly hit a child outside a Dundee school.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard Audrey Robertson, of Abbey Lane, Errol, forced the child to move out of the way at Byron Street to avoid being hit.
Fiscal depute Trina Sinclair told the court the incident happened around 3.15pm on June 12 last year.
She said: “Although unhurt the child was extremely shaken by the near collision.” Robertson, who did not alight from her car, apologised and drove away.
Admitting driving a car carelessly by failing to stop for a school crossing patroller, Robertson was issued with five driving penalty points and fined 500.
