A man accused of climbing on to the roof of a Lochee house and throwing roof tiles at police officers below appeared in private at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Connor Patrick McLeod, 19, of Arklay Place, Dundee, appeared on a petition alleging 10 charges during the incident which occurred on Saturday.
McLeod made no plea or declaration during the short hearing before Sherriff Tom Hughes.
It is alleged he assaulted his ex-partner in Burnside Court by grabbing her by the hair then repeatedly punching and kicking her on the head and body, then again in Gray’s Lane where it is further alleged he grabbed her and threw her against a parked vehicle, causing her to fall to the ground before kicking her on the head.
He is then accused of culpably and recklessly climbing on to the roof of a house in Cobden Court, removing roof tiles and throwing them, as well as other debris, to the ground causing danger to the public and the occupants of neighbouring properties.
Two of the charges related to wilfully and recklessly destroying property, both on the roof, and by throwing a tile through the roof of a neighbouring property’s shed. A further four charges are of police officer assault, by throwing a mobile phone, which hit a sergeant on the wrist, throwing roof tiles and debris at others, and spitting.
It is also alleged that at Cobden Court McLeod conducted himself in a disorderly manner by shouting, swearing and verbally abusing police, causing fear and alarm to occupants of neighbouring properties and committing a breach of the peace.
The case against him was continued for further examination and McLeod was remanded in custody.
