Dundee and Perth have scored highly in a survey to find the best hotels in Scotland and across the UK.
Hotel booking site LateRooms.com has unveiled its annual “Top Rated Hotels” list.
The list reveals the UK’s best-loved hotels, according to guest reviews, as part of its annual Simply The Guest Awards.
When it comes to guest review scores of top-rated hotels, Dundee was voted the best city in Scotland, based on highest average rating, and fifth in the UK overall, behind Worcester, Carlisle, Preston and Norwich.
Dundee’s establishments had the highest average score of 90.4%, above the UK highest average of 88.9%. However, when based on highest concentration of top-rated hotels, Perth was Scotland’s No 1 city, with Dundee seventh.
Top Rated status is awarded to hotels according to average guest review scores over the past year. The hotels given the status must have an average review rating of 80% or above to receive the accreditation, as well as a minimum number of reviews over 2016.
LateRooms.com spokeswoman Andrea Tarpey said: “Guest reviews give genuine, unbiased insights into the experiences other guests have had at a property, which is so important when deciding where to stay.”
