Double-platinum-selling singer Paloma Faith is coming to Dundee to perform at the city’s Slessor Gardens.

The star will become the first act to appear at the outdoor venue for three years when she takes to the stage on Sunday July 24.

The multi-award-winning star, whose hits include Only Love Can Hurt Like This and Lullaby, is visiting Dundee as part of a UK tour.

She said: “I’ve been touring my recent album Infinite Things and it’s been so invigorating seeing everyone out on the road around the UK.

Singer ‘beyond excited’ about Dundee gig

“I’ve loved playing live again and I am beyond excited to announce my summer 2022 tour.

“I love nothing more than singing for you all and hearing you sing back to me. There’s nothing like it.”

Faith appeared in a BBC documentary earlier this year, Paloma Faith: As I Am, which gave an insight into the singer’s life and frank discussions around motherhood.

She also entered the world of interior design with her own home collection, and has taken part in filming for TV and film.

Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, CEO of promoter Grandslam Live, said: “We’re delighted to be working with TEG MJR in producing Paloma’s show and working closely with the great team at Dundee City Council.

“It’s great to be back out working on shows again after such a challenging time.

“The tour has been really well received by Paloma’s army of loyal fans and we’re looking forward to a great show.”

Mark Flynn, convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee, said: “It is great to see major events and concerts back at Slessor Gardens which will bring even more life, colour and excitement to this well-used and well-loved public space in the heart of the city.

Latest in a line of stars at Slessor Gardens

“We have built up a successful track record of top talent coming to Slessor Gardens over the past few years and this latest announcement builds on that, generating a buzz ahead of next summer.”

Tickets for the show go on sale next Friday (October 15).

The last gig to take place in Slessor Gardens was DunDee 80s in August 2019, involving stars from the decade including ABC, Hue and Cry and Go West.

That same summer Tom Jones performed, while others to have appeared at the Waterfront venue include Rita Ora, Steps and Little Mix.

No gigs have been held there since 2019 due to restrictions put in place during Covid-19.
