A Dundee landlord is offering punters the chance to switch sides of the bar and run their own pub.
City Centre Pubs, which runs entertainment venues, has put a fully renovated premises on the market – with free rent for the first three months.
No experience is necessary to take on the Corner Bar, previously known as the Bay Horse, on Polepark Road.
After the free three months, whoever runs the bar will only have to pay rent and can pocket the rest of the profits.
The property is located in a popular student area of the city and has been fully refurbished.
‘Anyone can apply’
Owner Jimmy Marr, who lets a number of other venues in the area, has described the property as a “ready-to-go pub” and says that applicants do not need to have any experience in running a bar.
He added: “Anyone who wants to can apply for it.
“We’re not looking for someone with loads of experience.
“This is a really great opportunity and a good way for someone to get into the hospitality trade and see if it’s for them.
“We’re just looking for someone with a bit of common sense who’s prepared to work hard.”
The businessman said City Centre Pubs will help the newbie learn the ropes.
“We’ll help with their book keeping and other things, we aren’t just looking to take the money and not help,” he said.
“Up until a few weeks ago we did have another tenant but she has now retired.
“We’re just looking for someone who’s willing to work hard and make the property work.”
