Police have recovered a number of stolen items taken during an early morning break-in at a Dundee store.
The Spar on Glamis Road was closed on Friday morning as police launched an investigation.
Police Scotland confirmed “a number of items” were taken during the incident which happened shortly before 2am.
A spokesman advised some of the stolen goods have now been recovered – though no arrests have been made.
Spar Scotland said they would continue to assist officers with their investigation before adding that they were “supporting” staff at the shop.
One customer who did not wish to be named said he was “appalled” after hearing about the theft.
‘Brazen to break-in’
He added: “A friend of mine had said the shop was shut for a period on Friday morning but I was appalled to hear what had happened.
“It’s a great shop and the staff are fantastic, given the location and the volume of houses around here I’m amazed someone could be so brazen to break-in.
“Looking on social media at the moment and reading the papers it feels like there has been a spate of break-ins recently.
“I’m pleased to hear the police have managed to recover some of the stolen items.”
A Police Scotland spokesman added: “We were made aware of a break-in at a shop on Glamis Road in Dundee around 1.35am on Friday, October 22.
“A number of items were stolen from the premises and some have since been recovered. Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
