One person was taken to hospital after fire broke out in a house in St Mary’s in Dundee on Sunday evening. The blaze started in the ground floor of a two-storey semi-detached property in St Giles Terrace at around 7pm. Smoke pouring from the property. Four Scottish Fire and Rescue appliances rushed to the scene. A spokeswoman said a female was given oxygen by paramedics before being taken to hospital. Firefighters spent almost two hours tackling the blaze. The house sustained major damage. Eye-witnesses said the home belonged to a young family and had been gutted in the blaze.
