Emergency crews were scrambled to a Dundee street after two vehicles were damaged during a fire.
Appliances from the Kingsway Fire Station were called to battle the blaze on Alloway Terrace on Wednesday evening.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed they are now liaising with Police Scotland after the incident.
One local said the alarm was raised shortly before 11pm as video footage emerged online showing flames “soaring” into the air.
He added: “A section of Alloway Terrace was closed off by Police Scotland during the incident.
“Someone has uploaded a video online from when the vehicles initially caught fire and you can see the flames were soaring into the air.
“Both motors have been destroyed, there was still smoke coming off them this morning (Thursday).
“Given the commotion there was loads of folk looking out of their windows as the fire crew were spraying the vehicles down.”
A spokeswoman for the fire service added: “Two appliances from Kingsway attended Alloway Terrace after receiving the first call at 10.56pm.
“A car and van were found to be on fire.
“Crews used two breathing apparatus, one main jet, one hose reel jet and dry powder at the scene.
“We received the stop message at 11.32pm.”
