Shocking video footage has captured the moment a thug launched an “animalistic” attack in a Dundee pub.
Police Scotland are investigating after an off-duty bartender was headbutted and repeatedly punched at cocktail bar, 3 Session Street.
Victim Baillie Armstrong suffered injuries including bruising and a chipped tooth after the attacker unleashed a series of blows.
Bar owner Chris Symonds shared footage of the disturbance with The Courier as he tried to assist officers tracking down the person responsible.
Baillie, 24, had been enjoying an evening of drinks with friends at his workplace before the attack.
He said: “The person responsible had been part of a group of three men in the bar that night.
“There had been a request from two females I was with asking the men to ‘stop staring’ earlier in the evening.
“I hadn’t spoken to them at any point in connection with that or anything else.”
As the evening drew to a close in the early hours of Sunday October 31 one of the group targeted Baillie while leaving the bar.
‘Totally animalistic attack’
Baillie added: “My pals had gone off to the toilet and I was standing near the exit on my phone.
“I was totally oblivious to these guy even walking out of the premises and the next thing I hear is one of them saying ‘is that right?’
“The guy headbutted me and unleased a series of punches, it was totally animalistic.
“I did manage to get my hands up before colleagues intervened.
“Aside from my chipped tooth most of the injuries are superficial but it was totally unprovoked.
“I contacted the police on Monday.
“Two of the group had Irish accents and the other one was more local to Dundee.”
Bar boss slams those responsible
3 Session Street owner Mr Symonds said the safety of his staff and customers is “paramount”.
He added: “It was a nasty incident.
“It would be great if we could catch this man to stop someone else being put in danger of this type of behaviour.”
