Police in Dundee are investigating a serious sexual assault outside a city nightclub.
An area outside the Out Nightclub on Seagate was cordoned off by officers around 10.30am on Sunday after the incident was reported by a taxi driver.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said the attacker may have been Eastern European.
She said: “The man responsible is described as being aged in his 20s, about five feet 10 inches tall, slim build, with short dark brown hair, tanned complexion and may be Eastern European.
“He was wearing a grey hooded top, blue jeans and black trainers.
“Anyone with information that could assist officers with their enquiries or have been approached by a man fitting the description is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
“If you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
It is understood the manager of Out provided assistance to the victim until help arrived.
Paul Mobsby, 29, lives opposite the club. He said officers arrived on the scene shortly after 10pm and were still interviewing people in the area until 4am.
“We had our windows open but there were no sirens or anything,” he said.
“We just looked out and saw the police were there and had cordoned off the area.
“It looked like they were talking to lots of people in the club – they were still there about four in the morning.”
The scene had been cleared by 9am.
