Six marked police vehicles plus a forensic team rushed to Strathmore Avenue at around quarter past eight after the alarm was raised. A block of four storey flats in the street was cordoned off for around an hour after police arrived. Inspector Gordon Fotheringham of Police Scotland said: “We were called at about 8.17pm to a disturbance in Strathmore Avenue. “Obviously, we are in the early stages of the investigation. “There is presently a male who has been injured and who is off to hospital. “We are waiting on word from the hospital in regard to that. “There’s obviously something happened in the vicinity.” The inspector urged anyone with information about the incident to speak to a local officer or call Police Scotland on 101. A resident of Strathmore Avenue said it was not the first time the street had looked like a crime scene in recent weeks. She said: “It’s the second time police have been here in two weeks. That time, there was a lot of police activity, and police dogs out the back.”
