A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital after a disturbance on a Dundee street.
Police swarmed Fintry on Tuesday morning after a 35-year-old man was found injured in Fintry Road.
A police spokesman confirmed a 43-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with an alleged assault.
Up to 20 officers were part of the initial investigation, along with sniffer dogs.
Police quickly cordoned off a footpath connecting Finella Place and Finella Terrace when they arrived at around 11.00am.
Residents likened the heavy police presence to “a scene from America”.
William Love, 71, who lives on Fintry Road said there were around 20 officers on the street at around 11.30am.
He said: “The police were all situated near the junction with Finella Place.
“There must have been about 20 officers and there were between seven and eight police vehicles.
“Uniformed officers came to my door and asked if I’d seen anything but didn’t elaborate too much on what had taken place.”
‘Like a scene from America’
Another resident who has lived in the area for over 10 years said: “It’s awful to see this on your doorstep, people are obviously talking.”
She added: “One guy said to me it’s like a scene from America, one side of Fintry Road was taped off and there was a sniffer dog there as well.”
One man who did not wish to be named said there was an ambulance and an incident responder unit at the scene.
He said: “There were police dogs going into folks gardens.
“I was astounded to see the extent of the police presence in our area.
“The police also came to our door and asked if we’d seen anything happening but there wasn’t a lot we could really tell them.
“The first we really knew was when we heard a set of sirens and that was around 11am.”
Door to door inquiries
Another man who was using the local shops said he “couldn’t believe” the extent of the police presence.
He said: “Officers are obviously doing door to door inquiries just now.
“They appeared to be stationed at one house.
“The cordon on Fintry Road was literally going from Finella Terrace right down to Finella Place. I couldn’t believe the size of it.
“CID officers were taking down the police tape at around 11.40am while uniformed officers were carrying out door to door inquiries.”
