More than 400 cyclists took a tour of Dundee on Sunday to raise money for charity in the annual Cyclathon.
After a sharp drop in participants last year, organisers were happy to announce a healthy increase in the number of people taking part.
The yearly event sees cycling enthusiasts both young and old travel around the circumference of the city via the Green Circular Route.
Starting and finishing at Camperdown Park, cyclists of all ages and abilities pedalled their way round the city.
The race started at 10.30am, and participants had until 4.30pm to complete the course and collect their finishers medal.
Riders were this year asked to raise money for Marie Curie, who provide care and support services for sufferers of terminal diseases and their families. Attendees can are also allowed to raise money for other charities.
Sunday’s event was the 15th race to have taken place, all of which have been organised by the the Rotary Club of Claverhouse.
To date, the fundraiser has earned more than £250,000 for various charities.
Cyclathon organiser, Ian Balgowan, thanked the various organisations who had helped make the race such a success.
“We had more than 400 participants at this years’ race, which is significantly up on last year,” he said.
“This number is up from the 260 people who took part last year, which is in part due to the publicity we have received.
“Petra from Marie Curie has worked very hard to make sure lots of people were aware of the event.
“We also have had our costs met by the council, which means that all of the money raised can go directly to Marie Curie, which we are very pleased about.
“Without their help, we would not be able to raise as much money as we have.
“The Cyclathon has run very smoothly this year and the weather has been ideal- it has stayed dry but not been overly warm which is good for cycling.
“I am delighted with how the day has gone.
“The Cyclathon is a great family event, we put the emphasis on the race being fun and family friendly.”
Marie Curie patron Petra McMillan said she was delighted with how the race had gone.
She said: “It was a perfect day, the whole event was very well organised and it was wonderful to see so many people taking part.
“Lots of people were cycling not just to raise money for Marie Curie, but also in memory of loved ones who they have recently lost.
“We are delighted with how the event has gone.”
