Police sealed off Dundee City Centre on Wednesday afternoon after a woman climbed onto a ledge on the top floor of the Overgate Car Park.
Police stopped traffic and pedestrians from using Bank Street for an hour while they dealt with the incident.
The woman. wearing a red top, jeans and white trainers, had climbed over the safety barrier on the top floor of the car park and was sitting with her legs dangling off the ledge of the building.
Onlookers gathered at the rear of the Overgate building and in the NCP car park on North Lindsay Street to watch the incident unfold.
A group of tourists on a walking tour of Dundee were turned back by police after they tried to walk down Barrack Street to Bank Street.
Another eye-witness said he had been barred from entering a flat while police dealt with the incident.
Lauren Duncan, described seeing a heavy emergency service presence in the city centre.
The woman eventually climbed back over the barrier to the care of the emergency services at 4.05pm.
Police then reopened the roads around the rear of the Overgate.
