Police in Dundee have said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a 30-year-old woman in Dundee city centre.
Laura Fairweather was found unconscious in a lane between Seagate and Murraygate on Wednesday afternoon.
She was rushed to Ninewells Hospital but later died.
Police are carrying out an investigation into the cause of the death but have said there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
Her mother Linda posted an online tribute to her daughter.
She said: “Laura Fairweather was my daughter. She was a sister, a mum, a grand-daughter, a niece and an auntie and she was loved and will be missed so much by me and the rest of her family and her good and genuine friends.
“I can’t imagine life without her.”
She continued: “Laura was a gem…she helped so many people even tho she had nothing herself. She was loved by so many.”
Friends also posted their on tributes to Laura.
Siobhan Weir said: “My thoughts are with you and all your family.
“I was in primary with Laura and she never went passed without saying hi to me or my mum. RIP.”
Liz Martin said: “I can’t express enough words to say how horrendous this news is.”
Another tribute said: “Laura will be sadly missed in our family forever.”
Police were called to the alley at 1pm on Tuesday after Laura was discovered.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At about 1pm Police Scotland were contacted by Scottish Ambulance Service regarding an unconscious female who had been found in a lane between Seagate and Murraygate, Dundee.
“Police and ambulance attended and a 30-year-old female was conveyed to Ninewells Hospital.
“Sadly she died on arrival at hospital.
“At this time inquiries are ongoing, however there are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a full report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
It is the third time in just four months a woman in her 30s has died in a public space in Dundee.
In June, 34 year-old Rowan Soutar was found on land to the rear of the Nethergate.
The following month Debbie Dodds, 36, was found in a garden in Arklay Street.
Both women had been battling drug addiction.
