Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident, which occurred just after 9.20pm on Thursday. The post box is located on a grassy area in Balgowan Square, close to Balgowan Avenue. The fire was extinguished by officers from Scottish Fire and Rescue and the contents within the post box were damaged. Anyone with any information as to how the fire started or knows who started the fire should contact Tayside Division on 101 or any police officer. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
