A Dundee mum is scared to let her young daughter out after addicts left a dirty needle in her back garden and thieves stole the six-year-old’s bed-sheets from the washing line.
Sharon McCabe said she won’t be hanging clothes outside again after the unusual laundry raid at Arthurstone Terrace.
The 23-year-old said: “I hung out my daughter’s new ballerina bedding, her fitted sheet and my double fitted sheet to dry.
“I nipped out to the library and came home about 1pm and saw them still there.
“I went out to get them at about 2pm and they were gone.
“They only left behind the single fitted sheet which had some animals on it. I’m assuming they may have left this as it looks like a smaller child’s sheet.
“They definitely didn’t blow away as someone had taken the pegs off the line and threw them to the ground.
“Nothing like that has happened to me before and I hang my washing out whenever I can – I won’t be doing it anymore though.
“A few months back I found a dirty needle in the back garden too and had to phone the council to come out and remove it.
“I find it disgusting that you can’t let your daughter who is six play in the back garden for fear of falling on a dirty needle and now I don’t think I’ll be hanging out my washing any time soon.”
