The Legion Scotland branches of Tayside and Fife are calling for holders of the Elizabeth Cross to take part in the Festival of Remembrance in Dundee.
The invitation has been extended to the Angus, Perthshire and Fife area of the Royal British Legion Scotland and the festival will tale place in the Caird Hall on November 5.
The Elizabeth Cross is awarded to the next-of-kin of Forces personnel who have lost their lives on active service since 1948.
The Festival of Remembrance begins with the Parade of Standards and the muster of contingents from the regular and reserve forces, cadet forces, emergency services, and ex-service organisations. Cross holders are invited to have a special place in the muster.
Alastair McLean, festival convener said: “Our committee would like to honour those who paid the awful price of losing a son, a daughter, a mother, a father or a partner.
“Cross holders are welcome to walk down the aisle to the applause of the audience and take a seat on the stage to enjoy the Festival”
Kevin Gray, MM, Chief Executive of Legion Scotland said: “Remembrance is about bringing local communities together to pay our respects to those who fell in the two world wars and the many conflicts since.
“It could be a husband or wife, brother or sister, son or daughter, grandparent or uncle or aunt but in reality everyone has a link to someone connected to the armed forces.
Anyone holding the decoration who would like to take part in the muster can contact the Mr McLean on 01764 652912, 07777 652390 or at alastair2912@gmail.com.
Tickets for the public are available from the Caird Hall.
