Police are appealing for the public’s help in tracing a Liverpool man who has gone on the run from Castle Huntly open prison near Longforgan. Mark Chung was reported missing at 10am on Monday. It is believed that he has connections in Glasgow and the Merseyside area. Chung is described as 5 ft 9 tall, stocky build with a shaved head. He is of Asian appearance and speaks with a Merseyside accent. When last seen he was wearing glasses, a grey sweatshirt, grey jogging bottoms and black and grey trainers. Members of the public have been warned they should not approach Chung if they see him. Chung has convictions for robbery and for smuggling drugs into prison in Liverpool. Instead, they should contact Police Scotland on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. In 2006, Chung escaped from a prison in Nottinghamshire by hiding on a waste collection lorry. He was spotted jumping from the back of the lorry as it pulled into an industrial estate in Worksop.
