A little piece of Dundee history is going up for auction next week. Dundee auctioneers Curr and Dewar is selling the automaton cobbler which used to sit in McLeod’s Shoe Repairs on Strathmartine Road. The automaton is expected to fetch between £150 and £200 when it goes under the hammer on Tuesday. Automata can be highly collectable. The House of Automata in Findhorn restores and sells a wide variety of bizarre creations.
