A man has apparently been “stabbed” in broad daylight at an address on a busy city centre street.
Police cars straddled pavements on either side of the Seagate on Saturday morning at around 10.30am, after an incident witnesses described as a “stabbing”.
A total of six cars and vans attended the scene, a short distance from the Seagate Bus Station.
A man was seen leaving a block of flats in the sheltered housing complex on Seagate, between Sugarhouse Wynd and Queen Street, “covered in blood”.
Another witness described seeing a number of police officers in a cordoned area near the flats.
He said: “I saw about five or six police parked on Queen Street and on the Seagate. I’m not sure what happened, police wouldn’t say.”
Officers and police vehicles had left the scene by 1.00pm.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm there has been an incident on the Seagate. Enquiries are still on-going at this time.”
