Police have made an arrest after a man was found “covered in blood” at an address in Dundee city centre.
A 43-year-old man is due to appear in court on Monday in connection with an incident at a sheltered housing complex on the Seagate, across the road from the busy bus station.
The male was taken to Ninewells hospital and released after treatment.
A heavy police presence was spotted in the Seagate on Saturday morning, as shoppers made their way in to town.
A number of police cars and an ambulance were in attendance at the scene of the incident, which is thought to have occurred just after 10.30am.
The sheltered housing complex is located between Sugarhouse Wynd and Queen Street, opposite the Seagate Bus Station.
A witness saw a man leaving the complex, “covered in blood”.
Another witness said he saw police cars lining up Queen Street, which runs parallel to the housing unit.
He said: “I saw about five or six police parked on Queen Street and on the Seagate. I’m not sure what happened, police wouldn’t say.”
Officers and police vehicles had left the scene by 1pm.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A 43-year-old man has been arrested following an incident on Saturday morning.
“The man was conveyed by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital and released after treatment.”
