Emergency services raced to Dundee Airport on Friday after reports an aircraft had come off the runway.
No one was injured in the incident which happened just after 9am.
It involved a light aircraft with one person on board.
Scottish Fire and Rescue, Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service and the airport’s own fire service attended.
Aircraft involved
A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted to an emergency at Dundee Airport.
“A light aircraft with one person onboard had gone off the runway.
“The incident was dealt with by the airport’s own fire crew before we arrived.
“We were not required to give assistance.”
An eyewitness said: “When I saw lots of emergency vehicles at the airport I was really concerned.
‘It looked like a major incident’
“There were fire, police and ambulances there. It was really concerning.
“The entire area in front of the airport was filled with emergency vehicles.
“It looked like there had been some sort of major incident and I was really worried.
“Hopefully the person in the aeroplane is completely uninjured.”
No reports of injury to the pilot
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Officers received a report that a light aircraft had over-ran the runaway at Dundee Airport at 9.20 am on Friday February 11, 2022.
“There was no reports of damage or injuries to the pilot. Emergencies services attended as a precaution.”
A HIAL spokesman said: “Dundee Airport confirmed the Airport Fire Service (AFS) had been mobilised at 9.14 am.
“The AFS successfully recovered the aircraft after it had left the runway. No-one was hurt and the airport reopened at approximately 9.35am.”
