A male pedestrian has died in an accident involving a lorry on the A90 north of Dundee.
The tragedy happened on the northbound carriageway near the Petterden junction at around 3pm.
The road remains closed as a full investigation takes place.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland is currently in attendance after a road traffic collision on the A90 near to Petterden at 3pm today involving a lorry and a male pedestrian.
“Tragically, the pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed. His details will not be released until he has been formally identified.
“The northbound carriageway is closed to allow officers to work at the scene and inquiries will be carried out into the full circumstances of the incident.”
The northbound carriageway was closed from Powrie Brae, leading to massive tailbacks stretching back onto the Kingsway in Dundee.
