Dundee’s City Square was the focus of a light projection puzzle, organised as part of the Festival of Architecture.
A series of designs were lit up in the city centre on Monday evening for the challenge, which will run all week.
The five illuminations provide clues to a puzzle, which reveal trades commonly associated with the building industry.
The project, called Enlightened Dundee, is organised by the Dundee Institute of Architects (DIA) and is one of 400 events taking place across Scotland as part of the festival.
The winner of the puzzle will get a family trip to Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter in London.
Ged Young, DIA Festival of Architecture coordinator, said: “Enlightened Dundee is about recognising and respecting the skills of the men and woman who have crafted our buildings and cities, The DIA challenge all ages to crack the secret trades illuminating Dundee’s City Square buildings.
“Enlightened Dundee is running for the next few days so we’re hoping that people will engage with it.
“People will be able to see the puzzles illuminated on the buildings as they walk past, so it will be very easy to enter the competition.”
The puzzles will be projected around the City Square, between 6pm and 9pm until Sunday October 30.
The Festival of Architecture is a one-off event and a key part of the Scottish Government’s 2016 Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design celebrations.
Christine Palmer, president of Dundee Institute of Architects, said: “This fun event uses modern technology to highlight the built environment and those that create it.”
The winners will be announced by light projection on the back of the the Caird Hall, which can be viewed from Slessor Gardens.
As part of Dundee’s Light Nights 2016, the projection of the winning entries will start at 7.30pm on November 18.
