A man has been arrested and a woman has been taken to hospital following a major police response in Dundee’s Hilltown.
Several police units, along with paramedics and firefighters, were called to Tulloch Court at 12pm on Friday after reports of a disturbance in a flat.
The disturbance resulted in a 28-year-old woman being taken to hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, a 31-year-old man was arrested having been traced on the roof of the building.
Residents were stopped from entering or leaving all four of the multi-storey blocks at the scene for about three hours, but some were let back in from around 5.20pm.
The court has now been fully reopened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12pm on Friday, 4 March, 2022, we received a report of disturbance at a property in Hilltown Court in Dundee.
“Emergency services attended and a 28-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Officers subsequently attended another incident in the Tulloch Court area of Dundee after a man made his way onto the roof of a building.
“A 31-year-old man was traced safely and arrested in connection with the earlier disturbance.”
Speaking as the incident unfolded, one resident said: “There are police everywhere.
“They have sealed off every entrance and exit and are stopping people from entering or leaving.
“I saw at least 11 police cars at one point and police in riot gear in the building.
“There seem to be police on most floors and there’s an awful lot of shouting and banging going on.
“It’s actually pretty terrifying, especially when you don’t know what’s going on.”
Sean Hume, who has been waiting to enter the multis, said: “I’ve been waiting for a while now.
“This happens regularly, once or twice a year.”
Another resident told The Courier: “I tried to get in to my flat in the second multi but I wasn’t able to. I got turned away.
“I have no idea what’s going to happen next.”
