A woman has been charged in connection with a murder investigation in Dundee.
The body of a 33-year-old man was found at a house in the Whitfield area at 11pm on Monday.
Now police have confirmed the death is being treated as a murder.
A 32-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the Whitfield Avenue investigation and is set to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
There was a huge police presence on Monday night as the area was cordoned off.
They remained there late into Tuesday afternoon and officers in white suits were searching a house and garden at the row of terraced homes.
Dog handlers and police carrying shields were also seen in the street.
Whitfield Avenue residents were shocked when they woke to the activity on Tuesday morning.
One neighbour described the police presence as “frightening” as she surveyed the scene.
The neighbour added: “The police were there when I got up at 7.30am today (Tuesday).
“I have never seen so many police at one house.
“It’s really frightening.”
Another resident added: “There has been a huge police presence there all last night and all day.
“I have also seen police officers in white forensic suits.”
‘Isolated incident’
Detective Inspector Craig Ross, of Police Scotland’s major investigation team, said:
“This is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider community.
