Neighbours have said it’s “frightening” after a man was seriously injured following an assault near their homes in Dundee.
A 44-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital after a disturbance close to the junction with Forth Crescent and Charleston Drive on Friday evening.
The man’s injuries are described as “non-life threatening” after an incident involving a group of males in the middle of the road.
Police Scotland have been conducting door-to-door inquiries in the Menzieshill area over the weekend.
Many living nearby said they were “surprised” at the extent of what had happened on their doorstep, as police launched a public appeal.
‘It’s frightening’
One woman – who did not wish to be named – only became aware of the incident after reading about it on social media.
She added: “It’s frightening that this has happened so close to our front doors.
“When I read the police appeal I was surprised to see the extent of what had gone on, as we never saw anything on the night in question.”
Another tenant living locally said officers had been to her door twice over the course of the weekend.
‘I was surprised’
She said: “Uniformed officers were here on Friday night and asked if I was aware of a disturbance but they never elaborated on the circumstances.
“In the aftermath of them coming to my address I saw the police vehicles whizzing around Tweed Crescent and Charleston Drive that night.
“Two CID officers came to my door on Saturday morning, asking the same questions.
“It wasn’t until I read the police social media post that I knew about what had unfolded.
“I was surprised – so are a lot of people around here.
“No one seems to know too much about it.”
