Police have warned Dundee drivers to be wary of opportunistic thieves following the theft of two cars within 24 hours.
Crooks forced their way into a home in the city’s Bingham Terrace and swiped car keys, an iPhone, iPad and purse.
Following the raid the robbers stole a grey Audi A3 which was later discovered dumped in Craigowan Road.
The theft happened between 11pm on Tuesday night and 8am on Wednesday morning.
Less than 24 hours later, a white BMW M3 was stolen after a break-in at a property in Roslin Gardens.
Police say the robbery happened overnight between 8.30pm on Wednesday and 12.30am on Thursday.
Police Scotland has now moved to warn drivers to be aware of making life easy for crooks.
A police spokesman said: “Keep keys in a secure place inside your home, away from the front door and out of sight, not on display on a hook, table or other furnishing.
“Make sure windows and doors are locked, don’t leave an open invitation for thieves to enter and make a quick grab for keys.
“It’s preferable to keep your vehicles in a locked garage, however if you are parking on the street or in a driveway, consider parking in a well-lit area and consider whether there is CCTV coverage.
“Never leave your car unattended with the keys in it. Particularly in cold weather, when it might be tempting to leave your car running whilst the windscreen and windows defrost.
“Look out for your neighbours and report any suspicious activity to Police Scotland.”
