Proposals to create a new coffee shop and residential flats in Dundee’s Seagate have been given the green light.
124 Seagate is currently home to several night clubs which are to close on New Years Eve.
A planning application was submitted to Dundee City Council in August for a ground floor coffee shop and eight, three bedroom flats.
The proposals have now been validated by Dundee City Council planning chiefs.
A spokesman for property owner Euroscot Property Limited said the firm believe the plan can add to the regeneration of Dundee.
He said: “Euroscot Property Limited are pleased to note that Dundee City Council has granted planning permission to convert the nightclub complex which they currently own into eight self contained flats each with three ensuite bedrooms and a coffee shop on the front elevation across from the city bus station.
“We are now liaising with our existing tenant who has indicated his wish to shortly terminate his lease.
“The development will enhance the Seagate area.”
The spokesman also thanked architect Jon Frullani for bringing the proposal to this stage.
