A woman was taken to hospital and a man arrested after a Dundee school wall was demolished in a crash. The incident happened at Ss Peter and Paul RC Primary School on Byron Street in the early hours of Saturday. The wall and railing close to the pavement were badly damaged, with plastic barriers in place on Monday. Most of the bricks have been knocked down. Taxi driver Gregor Ross, 49, as driving past the school when he came across the crash. He said: “It looked like it had just happened. The wall and the iron fencing at the playground were completely demolished. “The car that caused the damage was still there and it also looked like it was badly damaged. Damaged railings. “I stopped and called 999. The police arrived pretty quickly afterwards so I just left.” A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers were called to a one-vehicle crash on Byron Street in Dundee at around 12.25am on Saturday. “A woman was taken to Ninewells Hospital. “A 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and will be reported to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
