Elderly residents of a quiet cul-de-sac in Dundee have spoken of their anger at vandals who have smashed up their bus shelter.
Pensioners Val and Robert Heath, of Kilravock Gardens, rely on the bus service to get around and are now forced to stand at a shelter with missing panes and graffiti.
They claim that the bus stop, on Longhaugh Road, was damaged around three weeks ago but still hasn’t been fixed.
Mrs Heath said: “It’s twice now that this shelter’s been vandalised, over the past three weeks.
“There’s now a pane of glass missing and the other one has a hole in it, plus the whole thing is scratched and written over.
“It’s freezing standing there, there’s hardly anything to keep out the rain and cold.
“We don’t know who’s doing it, but there’s a chance it could be kids. There are lots of them hanging around there after school and at night.
“Our area is normally quiet, apart from this issue.
Another neighbour, Christine Brown, added that the bus stop has been like this for around three or four weeks, and that she has seen kids clambering on the roof and loitering at the shelter.
Dundee City Council say they were only made aware of the damage on Friday of last week and said repairs are imminent.
“An anonymous request was received…which was passed on to the appropriate service area,” the spokesman said.
“The repairs will be made as soon as possible.”
