Emergency services rushed to Monifieth Farm’s Brewers Fayre after an elderly driver crashed into a wall. Ambulance services and police attended the scene of the accident just before 1pm. Upon arrival, an elderly female driver was treated for an injured foot. The driver’s passengers suffered only minor injuries. Three people were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. PC Simon Lee said: “An elderly lady with a couple of passengers in her car shot forward and hit the building. “She has a bit of a sore foot and we have to check her over to be sure, but it appears to be fairly minor. “None of the passengers were seriously injured. “They were out for Christmas lunch, so unfortunately that ended abruptly.” A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed crews were in attendance, but that no equipment had to be used. Minor damage was done to the wall of the Brewers Fayre restaurant. Brewers Fayre refused to comment.
