Volunteers are appealing for homely donations to aid families fleeing war-torn nations.
Members of Dundee The Caring City have appealed for beds, wardrobes and cots to help families looking to start a new life in Dundee.
As well as helping refugees, the donations will aid people leaving prison and homeless shelters and moving into their own accommodation.
According to volunteers, fresh bed linen and a new bed can “instantly improve the life and mindset” of people.
Mike Strachan, from the homegrown charity, said: “For someone who has been sleeping in a tent or on a couch, who has been travelling across Europe, getting a proper bed and fresh linen can improve their quality of life and mindset right away.
“Things that people take for granted — beds, cots and wardrobes — people who have nothing are so grateful.
“One of the groups we are helping are people who are moving out of homeless units and are maybe getting over a drug dependency. They’re looking to start life again and, a lot of the time, have no funds to furnish their homes.
“What it comes down to is quality of life.”
Mike and his colleagues work closely with both people coming to Dundee for the first time and people affected by poverty.
From their Dunsinane Avenue base, Dundee The Caring City run a host of initiatives to help people requiring assistance.
Charitable Mike believes the positive fashion in which refugees coming to Dundee have been welcomed is proof of the city’s caring spirit.
He said: “My experience has been extremely positive.
“I’ve had lots of interest, but haven’t heard any bad comments.
“People are wanting to know more and when you speak about why people come here, people in the city say they think we have to do more as a country and give us a pat on the back for what we do.
“That’s a great reflection on Dundonians.”
Anyone wishing to donate household items or furniture can contact the charity on Facebook or call into their depot at 31 Dunsinane Avenue, Dundee.
