Police were called to the Overgate shopping centre in Dundee on Saturday after a man was seen “acting suspiciously and taking photographs”.
It is understood that the man was taking pictures of a child in the shopping centre when he was approached by her father.
Following a conversation between the two, the father reported the man to Overgate security, however due to the time that had passed he was advised to contact the police himself.
Officers attended the scene at 1.10pm but found that no crime had been committed.
Overgate statement
An Overgate spokesperson said: “Security was approached by the girl’s father some time after the incident took place.
“The gentleman requested security call the police however as security had not been made aware at the time of incident, he was advised he would be required to report the matter to the police directly.
“Had security been made aware of the incident at the time of its occurrence, the team would of course have been happy to help the gentleman.”
