Mr Bowman wants assurances an increase in violent crime across the region will be tackled
A former candidate for Dundee City East has been unveiled as the new North East Conservative MSP to replace the late Alex Johnstone.
Bill Bowman, who has worked at KPMG in Aberdeen as a partner, and 10 years abroad with KPMG Central and Eastern Europe, will occupy the regional list seat.
Former dairy farmer Mr Johnstone, 55, who was born in Kincardineshire, died last week after an earlier cancer diagnosis.
He was described as “a big man with a big heart” by Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson.
His funeral takes place on Friday at Glenbervie Parish Church.
