A block of flats in Dundee was sealed off by police after an attack on a 51-year-old man.
A cordon was put up around the block on Cunningham Street in Stobswell on Tuesday night.
Forensics officers were also called to the scene, with at least five police cars parked in the area.
One man who lives nearby says he noticed a “major police response” as he drove past.
He said: “I was coming along Lyon Street and clocked five police vehicles in attendance on Cunningham Street and Arthurstone Terrace.
“The police cars were scattered across the area but it was a major response.
“Officers appeared to be at the block nearest the junction with Arthurstone Terrace.
“When I came past, around an hour later, I noticed the cordon had been put up.
“There was a sheet of wood and smashed glass within the bit that was sealed off.
“Given how many police vehicles were in attendance, you always fear the worst.”
Forensics officers taking photos of scene
Another man, who does not want to be identified, says forensics officers were taking pictures of the scene.
He said: “There were two police units as I was heading home just before 10pm.
“One officer was speaking with a resident inside the block.
“It was a fairly big cordon and it appeared the rear entrance to the flats was also cordoned off.
“Forensics officers arrived and started taking pictures of Cunningham Street.
“Alongside uniformed officers they appeared to be shining their torches at various windows of the higher flats.
“Having lived in the area for a number of years, it’s worrying when you see this type of scene.”
