“I saw there was an ambulance parked up with the flashing lights on and the police vehicles were scattered up and down the road.
“This must have been just after 3pm that this was unfolding.
“When I came back up the road just after 5.30pm, there was still a significant police presence.
“There was a number of officers congregated at the front door of that block.
“At that point I did start to fear the worst that something more serious had happened.
“I’m sorry to hear a woman has sadly died.”
‘Thoughts are with the woman’s family’
A 42-year-old who lived nearby said he was “devastated” to hear about what had happened.
He said: “There was few residents outside in the aftermath, people were naturally worried when the seen all the police.
“I saw all the officers at the entrance of the block of flats just after 5pm.
“Initially it was just one officer standing guard before more arrived.
“We weren’t sure what exactly had happened at first.
“Another person had told me there had been an ambulance there earlier in the afternoon.
“I’m devastated to hear that someone has died.
