Two burnt-out vehicles have been found in Dundee during a spate of vandalism and anti-social behaviour.
A gutted car has been abandoned in Old Quarry Road this week, along with a van on Forties Road, just a mile away.
Police have confirmed the car was stolen before being set alight.
An accelerant cannister was left beside it.
The manager of nearby Ballumbie Golf Club says anti-social behaviour in the area is becoming more frequent.
Club manager Alan Bange has experienced a number of incidents during his time at the golf club and told The Courier that there has been a recent increase.
He said: “Not only did we have the car fire this week but there was another similar incident nearby a few weeks ago.
He added: “There has been more incidents happening in the area for a while now.
“If it isn’t car fires, it’s young people on scooters who are driving on the course and wrecking the greens.
“It’s becoming more difficult for our greenkeepers to maintain the standard of the course.
“This is happening at a time when more people will be wanting to play.”
Firefighters had to extinguish the car after it was reported in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.32am on Wednesday July 6 to reports of a vehicle on fire at Old Quarry Road, Dundee.
“Operations control mobilised one fire appliance and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one car.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
On the same day, a burnt out van was spotted beside a walkway in the city’s Forties Road.
Police are investigating the vehicle theft at Old Quarry Road but say they have not received any reports about the van on Forties Road.
A spokesperson said: “Around 3.45am on Wednesday officers received a report of a burnt out vehicle on Old Quarry Road, Dundee.
“There were no reports of injuries.
“Following enquiries it was established the car had been stolen and the fire is being treated as wilful.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.”
