A world-famous Olympian will take Tayside by storm in a professional wrestling “supershow”, it was announced today.
Atlanta 1996 gold medallist Kurt Angle will appear along with Scottish megastar Drew Galloway at an event in Dundee this month.
The bout was announced at a press conference in Dundee Ice Arena, at which 6’ 5” grappler Galloway announced the 5 Star Wrestling show on January 28 will also be shown on TV.
The former WWE and TNA champion, from Ayr, and fellow US wrestling legend Angle will join a card of internationally-known wrestlers.
The most famous “lucha libre” wrestler of all time, Rey Mysterio, will be in action against John Morrison for the 5 Star Championship.
More former WWE names, Carlito and PJ Black, previously known as Justin Gabriel, will appear alongside big names on the UK circuit including Iron Man Joe Coffey.
Former ROH world champion Jay Lethal is also to compete.
Galloway announced the show will also be shown as part of a newly-commissioned series for Spike TV in the UK, and that Angle will appear as a commentator.
