A search is ongoing for the occupants of a car who escaped a Dundee police chase on Monday evening.
Police followed a car southbound on the A92 from outside of Dundee and on to the Kingsway before it came off the road outside the Arnold Clark on Kingsway East.
Officers were already waiting for three occupants of the black car, who immediately fled the scene.
Residents living near the junction of Pitairlie Road in Mid Craigie said they thought the car the youths were in had been driving on the wrong side of the road during the pursuit.
Dundee police chase
One man said it was lucky nobody was injured during the incident.
He said: “I saw the car near the junction with Kingsway East and Pitairlie Road and the three occupants fled the scene.
“The police were here for sometime in the aftermath.
“From what I could see the youngsters legged it back into the body of Mid Craigie and it looked like the police tried to pursue them in the car.
“It’s lucky no one was injured as it’s such a busy intersection.”
