A group of children have been rescued after being blown out to sea on a dinghy at Broughty Ferry.
Lifeboat and coastguard teams were alerted after the youngsters got into difficulty just after 3.40pm on Tuesday.
They had been on the inflatable near Broughty Ferry beach when they were blown away from the shore, as hundreds of revellers headed for the coast amid the heatwave.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said: “It was an incident involving a number of children who were blown out to sea in their dinghy at Broughty Ferry.
Group brought safely back to shore
“The call came in around 3.40pm on Tuesday to HM Coastguard.
“We sent Broughty RNLI lifeboat, Broughty lifeguards and Arbroath and Dundee coastguard rescue teams.
“All were recovered and brought safely back to shore.”
