The family of missing woman Sharon Hutchison have been informed after a body was found in Dundee.
The body was found on Sandeman Street at 1.15pm on Monday, following police inquiries in the area.
Police Scotland say investigations into the circumstances are ongoing.
Ms Hutchison, 54, was last seen on July 30 on nearby Provost Road and her family have spoken of their agony since her disappearance.
Police remain in the area following the discovery.
One resident of Sandeman Street says police warned her to keep children away from windows.
She said: “The police were in our block as part of routine inquires earlier today.
“They were asking us about the missing woman and were searching the back garden and the side of the flats.
“They came back a short while later and advised me if I had young kids tell them not to look out the window.
“The police presence got bigger as the day went on.”
Sandeman Street blocked by police
One witness said: “The police have blocked off the road at the junction with Tannadice Street and Provost Road.
“From what I could see the police were stationed in and around trees between the older tenements and newer flats.
“One officer was in a hazmat suit and he was walking into that space as two uniformed officers were at either side.”
Another woman living nearby says she became aware of a police presence at around 1pm.
She said: “There were two police vehicles here at the back of one today.
“They were in the area last night [Sunday] doing door-to-door inquiries regarding the missing woman.”
