A 14-year-old boy has been charged after a 36-year-old man in Dundee was seriously assaulted.
Police were called to Kirk Street in Lochee just before 9pm on Sunday following reports of an attack.
Locals say the incident happened outside a block of flats.
The nature and extent of the man’s injuries has not been confirmed.
Officers standing guard at footpath
One resident, who asked not to be identified, said at least four police vehicles were in attendance.
She said: “People rushed out to help in the aftermath and I think they called the emergency services.
“The man was taken away in an ambulance and the police started interviewing people.
“There must have been eight police officers here on Sunday evening.
“From what I’ve been told, officers were standing guard on the footpath between Kirk Street and South Road.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers received a report that a 36-year-old man had been seriously assaulted at Kirk Street, Dundee at around 8.55pm on Sunday.
“The man was taken to hospital for treatment.
“A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. Inquires are ongoing.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
